Waste not, want it | Blog | Design Week
These are some pretty imaginative ways of 'recycling' everyday items.
This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.

For anyone interested, or currently working, within graphic design, you may find this report some inspiration. At least one of my designs could be fallen into one of their categories.

Creative Review - CR August issue: Summer Bumper Book O' Fun
It looks like this issue seems to be in the summer holiday spirit... which can't be a bad thing.

Modern Art Oxford | What's on | Colour Field Frames | About
This sounds interesting. Vaguely aware of Len Lye, but apart from that, this sounds like an interesting programme of films to keep me amused on a Thursday evening.

A-HAA: The Magic of Drawing 2
This excellent entry in the ASIFA Hollywood Animation Archive blog goes into the how 'magical' doing a drawing can be to an unaware audience. He uses an example of a live painter, as well as this entertaining segment from Penn and Tiller, to make their case, whilst showcasing some stunningly simplistic illustrations from Olaf Gulbransson. It's worth a look.

Animation Mentor Newsletter - July 2010
This is quite interesting, whether if you have recently graduated, or someone who needs to update their reel with new stuff- I fall into the latter in that scenario. Their theory on polishing up your student work up to professional standards might come in handy too.

Trigger Word Model: Throught
I was clearing out my camera, and I stumbled on my latest trigger word model, which I did several weeks ago.
This model is to illustrate the word 'through', which means "from one end or side to the other side or side of". So I depicted this by having a figure go through a box of old papers and magazines, and throwing the stuff they didn't want in the bin.
I took various shots of the clay model, and below are some of other shots that I attempted, just to show how I try and capture the model.

ROTTEN TOMATOES: Tomatometer Watch: Will Inception's Dream Be Real?
Rotten Tomatoes seem to be banging on another flawless critical reception of 100%... for now!
Their last contender, which they went ga-ga for, was Toy Story 3, but someone actually criticised it, giving a 99% score.
