This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.

Life Drawings- 1st July 2021- Modern Queer Heroes Workshop.
I'm so glad I managed to attend this life drawing session, run by Kate Jessop, inspired by her recent film project, Modern Queer Heroes, in which the model posed themself in poses inspired by the 14 people they featured in this collaborative film. So here are the drawings.
The first quick sketch was based on George Michael... because of the jacket.
This one was based on Lady Phyll.
This was based on the musician, Frank Ocean.
This pose was based on Denise Ho.
This pose was based on Janelle Monae.
This pose was based on the comic book artist, Alison Bechdel.
This pose was inspired by Fox Fisher.
This one was influenced by the YouTuber, Natalie Wynn.
This one was inspired by the group, Christine and The Queens.
This was inspired by the model, Munroe Bergdorf.
This was influence by the works of Gregg Araki.
This one, which is my personal favourite, was inspired by the musician and activist, Chardine Taylor Stone.
This pose was inspired by the works of Judith Butler
The final one was inspired by the works of Travis Alabanza.
I'll be honest, this is the first time I've done any life drawing in years, let alone on Zoom. I enjoyed it, and there are plenty of personalities to check out from this film.
