These drawings, except the one above, were done during an exercise in which we drew what we felt, whilst some music was being played. I drew the plane whilst some opera was being played- probably a piece from Wagner. I drew the giant, industrial robot whilst some metal music was played, which was definitely some Rammstien. The ballet dancer pose was drawn whilst some classical piano music was played. The more refined drawing of the giant robot was drawn after the excercise as I felt that concept has so much. It was surprising that I drew this because I have never drawn any giant robot/mecha art before of this standard. So I was quite pleased with the result.
This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.
