Margaret Thatcher and Hollywood: How Entertainment Portrayed Prime Minister
Whether you agree or disagree
with Thatcher's government during an extraordinary period in modern
history, there has been plenty of media that have represented Thatcher
throughout the years.
Although some other honourable mentions, not featured in this article,
include Octopussy, which featured 'Thatcher' receiving a phone call from
Roger Moore's James Bond; The Comic Strip Presents The Hunt for Tony
Blair had Jennifer Saunders giving her a Sunset-Boulevard make-over
for this political noir spoof ; and the TV Movie 'Margaret Thatcher: The
Long Walk to Finchley' represented Thatcher, in a light-hearted manner
from Andrea Riseborough's performance, chronicling her rise as a MP.
This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.
