Artober 2020- Day 20- 90 Minute Art Challenge

My piece for this week's #90MinuteArtChallenge for day 20 of #Artober I got influenced by what Bobby Chiu was doing during Monday's livestream in terms of colours and additional figures in the background, but I can see myself doing more paintings in MagmaStudio - that and doing Bob Ross-esque videos with all these drafts I've saved during the process!

Artober 2020- Day 19- Understudy for 90 Minute Art Challenge

I didn't have time to do it live this 90 Minute Art Challenge this week, so I thought I do this pencil understudy to understand what is going on with Beth's photograph before doing it properly soon.

Artober 2020- Day 2- Pencil Study of Mouth Dreams Album Cover

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to be doing a pencil study of an album today.

Yeah, it's from the album cover for an album called Mouth Dreams from Neil Cicierega (it's online if you're curious to hear it), but I was just drawn to its cover with a figure on its side on a pillow. I didn't get much time to do much with it, but you get the gist of what's going on here.

Inktober- Day 22- Life Drawings

There were not successful, but then again, my mind on trying to do some errands, including being an extra for a film being shot that day.

Inktober- Day 15- Life Drawings

I'm quite liking the marks I'm making when I do life drawing on the buses with this dual-head brush pen. I quite like the marks with the smaller nibs on this study.

Inktober- Day 13- Life Drawing

Yeah Sunday there wasn't much time to do any drawing, except this quick life drawing on the bus. Like how I got in the legs and the hands surrounding the hands of this figure.

Inktober- Day 12- Not Again Cartoon

One of my professional Facebook friends shared a cartoon from Vic Kasinja's Taxina series. I was inspired by the figure in the foreground's pose, I was inspired to create my own cartoon out of it... only with a more topical topic on a contemporary telly.

Inktober- Day 9- Life Drawing and Script Doodles

Wednesday was another busy day with another thing on in the evening. Luckily, I managed to do a slightly more convincing quick life drawing of this figure on the bus, as well as do some doodling during my meeting. One of those figures doodled reminds of that footman from Jan Svankmajer's Alice.

Inktober- Day 8- Life Drawings

Tuesday was a bit busy for me because of work commitments so I did some life drawing on the bus. The top one looked too messy to read, so I managed to do just an ink drawing on the same subject. They are okay in my book, but not convincing to depict what the figure was whilst on the bus. Luckily I did a still life of this bicycle, but I wished I drew the background as well to give it context.

Inktober- Day 20- Tonal Study?

After an emotional exhaustive day, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to, or should, attempt something for Inktober. I decided to finish off another sketchbook (this one I have been using for over 4 years!) with a tonal study from a photograph. I think if I was to something tonal like this, I would've invested in some different shades of grey markers to get some depth, rather than that dramatic black for all the folds in the clothes, as well as the lighting around the neck and face of this figure. I can now start on a sketchbook, which I have been using for just exercises from a Brothers McLeod book recently, and fill that with some life drawings from time to time, as I am now got 9 more days of Inktober left.

The Blinddraw Challenge Drawings

Remeber that Blinddraw Challenge I did at the start of the month? Probably not, but I finally got around to scanning those drawings I did during that challenge. The first three were my initial attempts whilst I try to frame myself and my sketchbook in the confines of my bedroom. The bottom one was the one used for the video, whilst the others were sped up as an extra treat for anyone that wanted to see them.

Inktober- Day 24- Life Drawing

Did some life drawing on the bus today. Whilst the hair wasn't as rugged as it was in real life, and it was unfinished because they left for their stop, I quite like the minimalist marks on the seating.

Inktober- Day 8- Man on Bus

I think that this was rather successful. I was able to draw the male figure convincingly, and used the brush pen to acheive some minimalist effects when it came to the background of the bus.

Inktober 2016 -Day 1- Life Drawing on Bus

Well I finally decided to do this Inktober thing this year. So here is my first at doing some life drawing in a while. It is meant to be a figure sitting on the bus, but I think I put more effort in drawing the details of the bus on the actual. I did drew it in a minute with a ballpoint pen, but I could have put in just a bit more time in drawing the subject for a little bit longer. Luckily there is another day to improve on this!
