Inktober- Day 29- Doodles

Not much to say, but just some doodles did at a meeting, but I think I need to reboot my computer soon as I am having fun trying to run Firefox and Photoshop at the moment... at least there are only a few days left of Inktober to go through first.

Didn't have much time to do some proper drawing today, so here's some doodles I did on a programme note for a film society screening.

Inktober- Day 9- Life Drawing and Script Doodles

Wednesday was another busy day with another thing on in the evening. Luckily, I managed to do a slightly more convincing quick life drawing of this figure on the bus, as well as do some doodling during my meeting. One of those figures doodled reminds of that footman from Jan Svankmajer's Alice.

Inktober- Day 3- Logo Redesign

I don't know if this counts as a different drawing, as I have to amend the colour scheme a bit of it. Not going to have to do much else now... but I might add some doodles to this post as I have had an exhaustive outing yesterday and it has caught up with me today. 

 I decided to upload last night's doodles on the programme note as I feel as I am not going to do too much on that logo on Day 4 than I am going to do so.

Inktober- Day 6- Programme Note Doodles

Not much to say about these doodles, although there are some that influences of an old animated film I watched as a child, Tubby the Tuba, in there. Also, some feeble attempt at Cup Boy for some reason.

Inktober Day 4- Doodles During Meeting

Do doodles counts as part of Inktober? I say so, so here goes. Just a miscellany of doodles I did during a meeting. I censored out some of the sensitive information from my copy of the agenda for the sake of privacy.
I finally started developing some character ideas I wanted to sketch out for a film I want to develop- that's why you so many egg-shaped heads with simple facial features.
I'll be back on the buses, so tomorrow maybe another chance to try some life drawing once again.

An Old Sketch Book... with Some New Drawn In Too!

I found this old sketch pad, the other day, and I decided to have a look in. Amongst all the notes- which date to probably my GCSE days from the French revision- there were a lot of doodles.

I do like, amongst all those cartoon heads, I was attempting to draw actual characters, like R2D2, or a villian from the PS1 game Rayman- I guess I was born to do some fan art, now and again.
So noticed that there were some pages left in the old book left. So, I did what came naturally to me.... use it up, of course!

So the top picture was really just me sploshing some paint about, as I was working on a watercolour illustration, which was based on the above 3 sketches of my face- I might get around to uploading that piece soon.

I even did some studies from the Loomis book, but I might make a proper, where this drawing came from, when I get around to doing some further scanning.

Bare-Knuckle Boxer- 'Refined' Doodle

I guess I was transfixed on some of the stuff I have been working on with the Loomis book to draw this character. I was also inspired from the TV series, Who Do You Think You Are, which found that one of the celebrities was descended from a famous bare-knuckle boxer.
It is not a brilliant character sketch, but I know I might be able to improve on it by using some of the techniques in the Loomis book- I still need to upload whole chapters of my studies onto this blog soon.

What Do You Think?- Refined 'Doodle' on Carboard

I don't normally draw on cardboard, but I ended up doodling on the front cover of my current A5 sketchbook- which I think is spelling out the obvious- and have decided to refine the lines to make this cartoon. It's okay, especially as this is the first time in drawing something of the top of my head for a few months. I should try and show you what I have been drawing inside pretty soon.

Doodles, Life Drawing, and a Skull

 I thought I group a eclectic bunch of drawings together in one post. So above was I life sketch I did yesterday, focusing on some bikes being locked up on a fence of a tree.

 

Today, I was applying the ball and plane technique from Loomis on a skull. It worked out okay, although not too distinctive as a skull, but I was able to apply the technique well enough that I might progress onto the next page of the book.

 

And these are some doodles I did earlier in the week. I seemed to have King Rollo on the mind when doodling that day.
