This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.

Artober 2020- Day 31- Count Duckula
Yeah, it's Halloween, and I couldn't resist drawing one of my childhood favourites for the final day of Artober. As you can tell, this is from memory so is probably off-model.

Artober 2020- Day 29- 90 Minute Art Challenge.
I managed to take part in today's #90MinuteArtChallenge Always fun to get a shoutout when working along. This was a pretty big undertaking, but I'm pleased that I learned a lot from hearing in as well as using Magma Studio for painting this piece.

Artober 2020- Day 28- Dizzy Fanart
Having just watch a documentary all about this British video game character recently, I just had to get some fanart out of my system. I have a vague childhood memory of playing one of those games on a cassette-based computer over at a friend's house, but I can only remember the music more than anythign else about playing that game, so I don't recall what game it was.

Artober 2020- Day 27- Another 90 Minute Art Challenge
Finally caught up doing the most recent #90MinuteArtChallenge for #Artober This is one I can get lost in all its detail, and having the video of that livestream beside me whilst working in MagmaStudio made me notice areas I could've missed out or consider.

Artober 2020- Day 26- 90 Minute Art Challenge.
Just finished this recent #90MinuteArtChallenge This was hard, especially with all that fur, but at least trying this on MagmaStudio is painting outside my usual tools.

Artober 2020- Day 25- #90MinuteArtChallenge Part 1
I'll be honest, I'm kind of struggling with this #90MinuteArtChallenge. I've done half an hour on it, and I'm not confident with it at all. Perhaps coming back tomorrow, and doing a good hour on it would do this justice.

Artober 2020- Day 24- Cuphead's Barbershop
I wasn't feeling inspired, so I just drew this Barbershop quartet from Cuphead. It is from memory, so it's not on-model, and I vaguely remembered the lyrics from their song as a result of THAT sidequest.

Artober 2020- Day 23- Create Your Own Universe Excercise
Another day, and it's another excercise from this book.
I was inspired by my childhood trips to Plymbridge Woords to create this wet woodlands arean for these mermaid/man/person character to roam in.

Artober 2020- Day 22- Create Your Own Universe Excercise
This was a random excercise from that Brothers McLeod book, where I had to draw three insects in sports gear. So I drew a dung beetle, a ladybird, and an ant playing Head Ball, where they had to head the ball from one side to another. I love the quick nature I churned this out.

Artober 2020- Day 21- Create Your Own Universe Excercise
Yeah, I wasn't feeling inspired, so it's just a pencilled sketch of those monsters I've drawn recently, but in map, showcasing their locations. I would've like to create a sewer monster to coincide with the city and street layout of the map, but I didn't have time to do much else with this.

Artober 2020- Day 20- 90 Minute Art Challenge
My piece for this week's #90MinuteArtChallenge for day 20 of #Artober I got influenced by what Bobby Chiu was doing during Monday's livestream in terms of colours and additional figures in the background, but I can see myself doing more paintings in MagmaStudio - that and doing Bob Ross-esque videos with all these drafts I've saved during the process!

Artober 2020- Day 19- Understudy for 90 Minute Art Challenge
I didn't have time to do it live this 90 Minute Art Challenge this week, so I thought I do this pencil understudy to understand what is going on with Beth's photograph before doing it properly soon.

Artober 2020- Day 18- Maps and Some Spray Stencilling
Today was the last day of my holiday from the day job, and it sure was a creative day with having my nieces as part of my social bubble.
The first two were maps. The black and grey one was done by me, whilst the other colourful one was done with the precise 'instructions' of my niece.
The bottom one was some stencilling. The one on the left was done by me, using the spray, whilst the right one was done by my niece, who struggle to get enough air to make that air spray work, so just used the pens to colour in like felt tips.

Artober 2020- Day 17- Unhappy Appliances
I'll be honest, I wasn't feeling like doing much drawing today. So here's some out-dated appliances being unhappy. Next!

Artober 2020- Day 16- Another Monster in Their Setting
Similar to the excercise from Day 14, I went for a hypnotic smartphone that sleeps in a chest of drawers (like my old phones!)

Artober 2020- Day 15- Joker Study (90 Minute Art Challenge)
It's back just in time for #Artober it's the latest #90MinuteArtChallenge with Bobby Chiu and Masae Seki doing their pieces live in Magma Studio. I might join them using that program as I feel my study from Joker is very similar to the last time I did such pieces. Oh well, let me know what you think.
