Felix the Cat in "A Cat and a Kit" - ca. 1925





As a fan of silent cinema, as well as a lifelong affection for the iconic character Felix the Cat, this epic 'advert' has all the qualities that made the Otto-Messmer-animated Felix shorts so entertaining to this day. Don't expect a piano accompaniment thou, but that's not a problem as the animation aesthetics are THAT good.

There should be something to please a lot of contemporary music palettes with such videos as Hold On, or the lyrical grit of Plan B's Ill Manor. The behind-the-scenes video of MIA's Bad Girls music video certainly gives the scoop behind the cultural trend of Iranian drifting.

As much as I enjoyed hearing the recorded version of this title track from Bruce Springsteen's latest album, I can't help but admire this excellent live performance of that song from him several years ago. Those are some great vocals from the Boss.
