Animation Magazine – Bruno Bozzetto Serves Up New Animated Short

Animation Magazine – Bruno Bozzetto Serves Up New Animated Short

Bruno Bozzetto (Mister Rossi, Help)  is one of the few living animators that deserves the status of a screen cartoonist because of his impeccable ability to make his brand of comedic cartooning work so well on the big, or small, screen. And Raspsodeus certainly does this by the bucket-load, whilst making a very powerful statement about war throughout the ages along the way too. It may also be one of the few Western shorts to use Liszt's iconic classical piece without using a piano as the musical gag - see The Cat Concerto and Rhapsody Rabbit as classic examples of this comedy convention.

Myspace, Digg, Google , Diaspora And Ping – 10 Social Networks That Failed [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter

I have fond social media memories of friends sharing their music blogs on Myspace, talking about how they found TV work through the site, and using Digg like there was no tomorrow on articles and videos that interested me. But, as these wonderfully illustrated info-graphics show, they have become relics in the social media world for one reason or another. It is worth a read for anyone thinking twice about going outside the Twitter/Facebook zone of social media.

Light and Dark Series- Charcoal Excercises

These drawings, except the one above, were done during an exercise in which we drew what we felt, whilst some music was being played. I drew the plane whilst some opera was being played- probably a piece from Wagner. I drew the giant, industrial robot whilst some metal music was played, which was definitely some Rammstien. The ballet dancer pose was drawn whilst some classical piano music was played. The more refined drawing of the giant robot was drawn after the excercise as I felt that concept has so much. It was surprising that I drew this because I have never drawn any giant robot/mecha art before of this standard. So I was quite pleased with the result.

Light and Dark Series- Easel Drawings

In the art group I have been attending for over a year now, we currently have a theme on light and dark. And as I need an excuse to keep uploading pictures onto this blog, I decided to share the first batch of them .
I was doing still life drawing and I ended up drawing this easel in the corner of the room. The piece on black paper was an attempt at depicting the light sources in the room, and how the light was reflected onto the wooden surface of the easel. I think it worked well.
The piece on the white paper was really just a study of the actual object, with little effort done on the toning or shadows on the piece- I was going to work on the shadows using the black paper.
