Well it didn't take me long to make some fan art. Just watching a streamer on Twitch playing games on Antstream, including Bomb Jack. I have fond memories of playing this in an arcade many years ago. The pose feels a bit like SuperTed or Super Mario Bros 3, but I wanted to toy with some old stationary I found whilst tidying up today.
This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.

Artober 2020- Day 4- Captain Scarlet Study
Just stumbled on someone sharing the illustrations from Ron Embleton that were used for the outro to the cult classic TV show, Captain Scarlet. So I decided to do a quick pencil study. Not something you can knock something in 10 or 20 minutes, but it was good to study such images that I remember fondly from watching this excellent series many years ago.

Inktober 2019- Day 4- Finalised(?) Censored Logo and Dr Oetker Cakes
Remember when Channel 4's Great British Bake Off used to be sponsored by Dr Oetker? Well, here is an off-model attempt to recreate one of my favourites. Yeah, I should've looked at the original before doing this, but at least it was a bit of fun from some of the professional work I've been up to recently. I've also done some drawn inking, having just discussed this with an illustrator at a meetup a few weeks ago. I left it with the original pencilling because I like it.

Trigger Word- Let - 4th July 2017
Overall Image of Trigger Word Model |
Closeup of figures saying goodbye to each other. |
Closeup of figures in speech bubble |
Yes, I am still doing trigger words, and here is the latest
web-friendly model for you to check out. The word was 'let', when meant to
allow. So I used it in the context that I let my friend go back home with their
parent. Based on a recent event, I think I manage to create this model rather
quickly. The fact that I modelled three of these characters three times was something
I did not expect to do. However, I felt the body language in the first scene
would not have been clear without the speech bubble emphasising what has
happened in the final scene (see close-up of those figures as I felt I did not
arrange the figures well for the shot of the overall composition.)

Inktober Day 4- Doodles During Meeting
Do doodles counts as part of Inktober? I say so, so here goes. Just a miscellany of doodles I did during a meeting. I censored out some of the sensitive information from my copy of the agenda for the sake of privacy.
I finally started developing some character ideas I wanted to sketch out for a film I want to develop- that's why you so many egg-shaped heads with simple facial features.
I'll be back on the buses, so tomorrow maybe another chance to try some life drawing once again.
