Italian Composer Ennio Morricone: I'll Never Work With Tarantino Again | Billboard
Tarantino is a bit of a love-hate figure in American contemporary cinema. Particularly, although not limited to, when it comes to choosing music for his films. Whilst picking vintage tracks has create some of crime cinema's most distinct scenes in recent history (Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction), I can fully understand Morricone (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) getting a bit tired of him picking out his previous pieces rather then letting him produce original music.
This was originally intended as blog designed so that Andy Norton, a postgraduate in Creative Digital Media, could discuss his influences whilst working on a comic for his Creative Portfolio Development module on that master’s degree. Now, the blog is intended to share articles relevant to his interests, as well as his artwork (past and present), as an experience graphic designer, with a background in illustration and animation.

FLIP: Tom Sito's History of Computer Animation

This is an entertaining, and interesting, article from animation veteran, Tim Sito, about the real history about the medium of computer animation. So instead of everyone saying that the medium all began with Pixar needs to start looking at the iconic work done on Vertigo, and all the other early sources of using computers to create animated effects, before making such a populist, and wrong, assumption about this technical medium.

Light and Dark Art Uploads- Paintings, Illustrations, and Wire Woman Studies
This is a batch of pieces done along the theme of light and dark. The paintings were based on scenes, and emotions, that I want to include inside my mask- and I won't be revealing my concepts behind this mask design just yet. The same can be said for the illustration of me on an exercise bike. The drawings all came from a still life drawing of this wire figure.

David Bowie - The Stars (Are Out Tonight)
You know when you seen a classic music video for the first time (Weapon of Choice, Thriller, et al), well the latest David Bowie will be certainly remember fondly for that very reason. An instant classic, and probably Bowie's best screen performance since popping up in The Prestige.

If you were to ask me to list some of the animators that have influenced my work, both personally and professionally, along with some contemporary figures (Nick Park, Bill Plympton), Bob Godfrey might not be an obvious choice in my repertoire. But with his work in children's programming (Roobarb, Skylark), his more adult work (Bio Woman, Instant Sex), and his involvement with the Beatles films (Yellow Submarine, A Hard Day's Night), you start getting an established picture about the legacy this figure has left in British pop culture.

This is an excellent film. So if you haven't seen it, and live near this screening of the film, you should definitely check it out.

Rhythm & Hues Filing for Bankruptcy After Deal With Prime Focus Collapses
Rhythm & Hues Filing for Bankruptcy After Deal With Prime Focus Collapses
I feel sorry for the staff that worked on a range of effects films, such as Life to Pi, to as far back as the Chipmunks trilogy. I fondly remember talks from their anatomy expert when he came to the Animex festival- I still remember that anatomy joke about Mickey Mouse to this day.
